Silver Cove RV Resort in Silver Lake Washington

From September 25 until October 21, our RV was parked at Silver Cove RV Resort in Silver Lake, Washington.  We parked it there while we explored Mount Ranier, Mount St. Helens, Fort Vancouver, and Fort Clatsop.  They also agreed to let us store it while we were on our cruise for a fraction of the cost of leaving it in Vancouver BC.

While we were at Silver Cove, we worked primarily with Heather.  She is the one who negotiated the good price for leaving the RV while we were on the cruise.  We were able to park in a monthly site and leave our refrigerator plugged in.  We ended up staying almost a month but paid less than the monthly rate, which was a bargain for us.

Silver Cove RV Resort is owned Highway West Vacations.  Highway West Vacations owns 12 campgrounds in California, Oregon, Washington, and Utah.  Not only do they have very nice RV sites and tent sites, they also have immaculate cabins that reflect the area in which they are located.  The cabins at Silver Cove were mountain cabins with a view of Mount St. Helens, or lakeside cabins on Silver Lake.  Highway West’s website says “each resort offers unique spaces and stylish amenities that welcome all types of travelers.”   While we stayed there we saw a large school group renting the cabins, and a wedding where the guests could stay in a cabin, a tent, or bring their RV.

Silver Cove was one of the cleanest and best kept RV resorts we have ever stayed.  Each site is large and spacious with a “canal” separating the various loops.  You can see it better on the map than I can describe it.  But it feels like every site is backing up on private space instead of being so close to the other RVs.  Just walking around all the loops was over a mile.  The office is also separated from the sites so there is less noise when people come in.

It was cold and rainy most of the time we were at Silver Cove.  But there are boats to rent, a playground, a large “clubhouse” and an immaculate laundry room.  I also appreciated the small “leave a book, take a book” library in the laundry room.  It actually looked like someone paid attention to it and attempted to group the books.

We really appreciated the ways Silver Cove worked to accommodate us.  Not only did they give us a good rate on storing the RV while we were gone, they gave us a great recommendation for getting our water heater replaced.  It is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
