I realized last week that I never wrote a post on Coastal Georgia RV Resort. We stayed at this very nice RV park during the government shutdown back in January. It is located just south of Brunswick on US 17.
Coastal Georgia RV Resort is immaculately clean and nicely landscaped. There are 150 full hook-up sites, most of them pull-throughs. Because the park is small in acreage, the RVs are parked very close together. We especially appreciated the privacy hedges in between each spot. At least we didn’t feel like our neighbors were looking in our windows.
Coastal Georgia RV Resort is one of the busiest RV parks we have ever seen. About 1/3 of the spots are seasonal or monthly. The rest of the sites are short-term stays and are always full. Every morning rows of RVs would leave and every afternoon the rows would be full again. This is an especially popular place for groups and rallies because there is so much to do in the area and they have a nice clubhouse.
When we arrived on January 1, we weren’t sure how long we would be staying. So we paid for a week, which was about 10% off the daily rate. Because we came in at the last minute, not expecting to stay in an RV park in Georgia, we had to move after a week. So we packed up and drove around the corner to a new spot where we stayed two weeks. We were going to have to move again, but the government ended the shutdown and we headed to Fort Frederica.
Coastal Georgia RV Resort is located near several very large truck stops and I-95. That made it convenient to get on the interstate and to get diesel fuel. We could also walk to the restaurants nearby. A small Winn-Dixie was open just around the corner so we could pick up groceries on our way home. We spent a lot of time walking around the neighborhood and found several newer housing developments and three schools.
The RV Resort had a small pool that was open, but unheated. The laundry facilities were clean and reasonably priced. A fishing pond borders one edge of the resort. During the day there was quite a bit of construction noise because Coastal Georgia RV Resort is doubling its size. They expected to have the new part open in April. We need to swing by and see if it is done.
We really enjoyed staying at Coastal Georgia RV Resort during the government shutdown. They worked with us to find us a place despite it being their busiest time of year. It was nice to know that our RV had a home, even if we were out of work.
