Harvest Pizzeria in Dublin, Ohio

Recently John and Jackie took us to Harvest Pizzeria in Dublin, Ohio.  It is their favorite pizza place.  I know I’ve been writing about a lot of places to eat lately.  I have several projects to write about, but I don’t want to write posts on them until they are finished.  These projects are filling my days and I haven’t been out exploring much.  Restaurants are the places we meet friends so they make good fill-in posts.

Harvest Pizzeria is located in downtown Dublin, in the trendy Bridge area.  John parked in the public library parking garage and we walked the short distance to the restaurant.  Harvest Pizzeria has five locations in the Columbus area, with the Dublin restaurant the furthest north.  The restaurant started with a location in German Village.

The unique thing about Harvest Pizzeria is their commitment to buying all their ingredients locally.  By doing this they are supporting small, local business, keeping shipping costs down, helping the environment, and getting the freshest ingredients.  Their website lists the local growers they use.  I really appreciate this commitment to local.

Harvest Pizzeria looks like a little house, but it expands into a sizeable restaurant.  There is a little outdoor seating.  We entered from the back, so we didn’t see the outdoor seating.  There was plenty of seating inside.  John and Jackie said the restaurant can be really busy, especially on the weekends.

Jackie ordered a Mean Green salad which we all shared.  The salad was really good with fresh greens and a light salad dressing.  John got a Habanero burger without the bun.  Jackie also ordered a Prosciutto pizza.  Tom and I decided to share a double bacon pizza, but we substituted tomato sauce for parmesan sauce.

The pizza was really good, with a thin but chewy crust.  Tom and I each ate a piece before I remembered to take a picture!  All the pizzas are the same size, so you don’t have to decide which size to get.  You just have to decide how much pizza you want to eat!  Tom and I easily polished off our pizza without feeling like we ate too much.

We looked at the dessert menu.  Jackie said the Butterscotch Budino was very good.  The Berry Crumble also looked very good but Tom and I always share and he isn’t a big berry fan.  The Brown Butter Brownie S’more also looked good.  In the end, we decided to skip dessert.

We enjoyed our supper at Harvest Pizzeria very much.  The food was very good and the company was even better.  If you are in the Columbus area, check out the super fresh pizza (and other delicious food).
