Skechers Hands Free Slip-Ins

I recently bought my first pair of Skechers Hands Free Slip-Ins.  In case you have missed the thousands of commercials on them, these are athletic shoes.  Before my hip replacement surgery I tried to think of things that would help me recover.  Now that I am one month post-surgery, I know which of those things are most useful.

The most useful thing was Tom.  I would not have been able to get my compression stockings on or off without him.  Which means I wouldn’t have been able to take a shower.  Tom was wonderful.  Everyone needs a Tom when they are recovering from surgery.

The second most useful thing was the walker and then the walking stick.  I no longer need a walker or cane, but I couldn’t have done much moving without them the first few weeks.  I used the walker for a week, and then used the walking stick for another two weeks.  Both were very useful in maintaining stability and giving me the confidence to walk without limping.

The third most useful thing is the subject of this post, the Skechers Hands Free Slip-Ins.  I ordered a pair because I knew reaching my left foot would be difficult for a while.  I have long, narrow feet and have always bought shoes with laces so that I can keep the shoe on my foot.  Sandals and other slip-ins tended to come off my heel when I was walking.  I wasn’t sure the Skechers would work, but I thought they were worth trying.

I loved the Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins from the first moment I put them on.  Tom had to help me dress after the surgery in the hospital.  He put my socks on.  But I was able to put on my own shoes.  I have worn them every day since, and even ordered two more pairs yesterday.  They are extremely comfortable – just like wearing the most comfy slippers.  But they have a good sole that provides the traction I need for walking.  They do not slip on my feet at all.

The pair I got are the Summit Everyday Slip-Ins.  I put them on first thing in the morning and wear them all day.  I can now tie shoes and put on other shoes, but these are so comfortable and easy, why bother?  These are definitely my new every day shoes.  Even after a month of wearing them all day every day, they fit perfectly.  In addition to another pair of these, I also ordered a pair of Slip-Ins boots for winter.  I haven’t had a pair of boots for a long time.  I usually wear my hiking boots in the winter, but there are advantages to having a pair of boots I can just slip on and then head out.

Skechers Hands Free Slip-Ins were developed in 2022 and seem like an amazing use of technology to me.  First, they have the exclusive Heel Panel.  It is firm enough to hold its shape yet comfortable against my foot. This design acts like a built-in shoehorn, staying upright so my foot can glide smoothly into place without the heel collapsing.  The second technological innovation is the Heel Pillow.  As I step in, it gently snugs around the back of my heel, securely holding my foot in place.  An athletic shoe that is comfortable to wear but also supports my foot.  The ease of putting it on is a bonus.

Have you tried Skechers Hands Free Slip-Ins?  If not, I highly recommend them.  They are good for every day and for after surgery.  Anything that makes life easier is a good thing.

I got my first pair of skecher slip ins this summer. My arches have fallen and I recently have been having heel pain (plantar fasciitis?) so I added dr.scholl gel heel pads. They made this shoe very comfortable and supportive. I’ll definitely get another pair.

I love how easy they are to get on and off and how comfortable they are. I am currently up to two pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. Love them all!
