Tom and I are back in Ohio for six weeks. Six weeks is not very long for all the things we feel like we need to do before we head out for our next park.
During that six weeks, I have five doctor’s appointments. I like getting them all over with in a small window and then I can pretend I am totally healthy the rest of the time. I have been having a lot of trouble with my hip and think it is probably time to schedule hip replacement surgery. Putting it off is only going to mean additional problems at this point. From what I have heard about difficulty scheduling surgeries, the fall sounds like a good time to go forward with that.
Tom is taking the Prius in for maintenance at Tansky Toyota tomorrow. We take the RV in for service at RCD on Wednesday. We are making a couple of slight modifications on the RV and letting the service center do the first two items. They promised it wouldn’t take long. We will see.
Speaking of the RV, Tom and I had not planned on winterizing the RV during the six weeks we are back. We know the weather is up and down in Ohio in April, but hoped it would stay above freezing enough that re-winterizing wouldn’t be necessary. Unfortunately the weather this week has several nights when the temperature is well below freezing. We went ahead and winterized yesterday because it is easier to winterize than to worry about the lines freezing.

We have been doing a bunch of running around. The protective screen on my phone camera broke, which made all my pictures look foggy. The screen on the front of the phone had a crack in it as well, so that required a visit to the Zagg store. We spent some time strolling around Costco. Tom, Mom and I went to say goodbye to Joann Fabric and see if we could find any bargains. The shelves still had plenty of merchandise as they empty out warehouses. I was able to buy some yarn that will be great for baby blankets and prayer shawls. It was only 25% off, but still a bargain. Joann has been my go-to place for fabric and sewing supplies for years and I will really miss it.

I am looking forward to celebrating Easter at our “home” church of Lewis Center United Methodist. We will also be in Ohio long enough to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and with John and Jackie. Mom and Dad and John and Jackie all make time to see us every week, so we will have plenty of family time together.
We have a short list of friends that we are hoping to see during the six weeks. I wish we could see all of our friends every time we are in Ohio, but the days fill up so fast. And juggling lots of busy calendars is a challenge.
When it comes right down to it, six weeks isn’t a very long time. At this point in our lives, it is just a blink and it is over. Prioritizing family and taking care of health and home seem to fill up our days.
What are you doing this spring? How do the next six weeks look for you?
Yes, every year with time passing faster makes us realize how family time definitely needs to be a priority. ” My time playing in the yard” even with my scooter keeps shrinking so John has decided “we” need to get a young (school age) fellow to help us maintain it and in turn we can help him ear some $. We both just love flowers and have always been a “team” and we treasure those good memories! By the way, your lawn looks beautiful!! Good planning for the fall as it sounds like it may be “time.” They’ve come a long way in making the knee or hip surgeries much easier so we will be lifting you up in our prayers as as that time nears.
It is nice that you can enjoy your flowers and yard, even if you can’t work much in it. Hiring some help sounds like a good idea. It was fun to be greeted by the daffodils and hyacinths as we came home from Georgia. Lawn service starts next week.
