Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Dublin Ohio

While we were in Ohio, John and Jackie took us to a new restaurant near their house, the Ram Restaurant and Brewery.  The location in Dublin is the newest location for this small chain, which has locations in Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.  We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we went there a second time about a month after the first.

The Ram Restaurant and Brewery is located in a new living complex of apartments, condos, restaurants, and stores built along the banks of the Scioto River.  Several other restaurants were newly opened or opening soon.  One of the perks to this place was the free parking garage next to the restaurant.

My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the fried cheese curds appetizer.  The cheese curds were very lightly breaded and served hot and fresh.  They were delicious!  Best fried cheese curds ever!

The rest of the food is also delicious.  The first time I went I had macaroni and cheese which was creamy, warm, and delectable.  Macaroni and cheese is a comfort food loaded in sodium so I don’t eat it very often, but this was worth the splurge.  The second time I went I tried the chimichurri chicken from the gluten-free menu.  For some reason, the gluten-free menu items are also the lowest in sodium.  Not as great as the macaroni and cheese, for sure.  The chicken was dry and the chimichurri seasoning was too thick.

The Ram Restaurant is also a brewery so there are big vats of beer.  I don’t drink beer, so I can’t comment on that, but the bar looked very well stocked.  The first time we ate there was a Sunday after church and the place was packed.  They have television screens with different sporting events playing.  The second time was on a Saturday night and it was still very busy.  But both times we were seated promptly and served quickly and efficiently.

You can order food from the restaurant online and pick it up for carryout.  It is a good thing we don’t live close by because I would be wanting to pick up cheese curds every night.  The Ram Restaurant group was established in 1971 and is a sponsor of the USA Olympic Curling team.  If there is a Ram Restaurant close to you, you should check them out.
