On a recent Sunday, Tom and I went with John and Jackie to 3 Brothers Diner in Powell. 3 Brothers has a storefront restaurant in a line of shops along Powell Street. It didn’t look like much from the outside, but was bigger than it appeared inside.
The Powell location of 3 Brothers is their second location. The originial 3 Brothers Diner is located in Grove City and opened in 2017. The brothers are from Oaxaca, Mexico, and all learned to cook when they were young. Their restaurants are a fresh fusion of Mexican, Cuban, and American home cooking. The menu is extensive with lots of options.
Although the restaurant was busy on a Sunday after church, there wasn’t a line waiting to be seated. We were quickly shown to a large round table. Because it was our first time at the restaurant, our waitress offered us a tasting of their specialty, 3 Brothers french toast. I had been planning to order the french toast, but wondered about it. The free serving gave me a chance to try it and order something else.

All of us ordered omelets. Tom and Jackie got the southwest omelet, and John and I got the Buckeye omelet, which was the special of the day. Tom said he ordered the southwest omelet because it had beef brisket in it. After accepting the offer of the free French toast, I still had to ask twice for it before they brought it to the table. John and Jackie felt the service was really slow, but I didn’t think it was excessive. It allowed us time to relax and enjoy each other.

The French toast is cubed and fried, served with bananas, strawberries, and powdered sugar. Although it was delicious, it was a little more fried than I like my French toast. I was glad I had ordered the omelet for my entree because it was delicious. I loved all the meat, cheeses, and veggies thrown on it. The home fries were also good and none of it was too salty.

3 Brothers Diner in Powell was a winner. It is definitely a place I would choose again. The food was excellent and the company was great.
